Buying?
Helping you and your family to find the perfect home is my favorite part of my job. I provide my clients with all the information I can acquire, from market trends to comparable sales prices and records of past performance. All of these details help prepare us for making solid offers that will get the home you want at the fairest price.
When you’re ready to buy, I can help, but while you’re getting prepared, I suggest you:
- Save for a down payment – lenders will verify where the money came from. Keep a copy of each deposit, note who gave you the money & what it was for.
- Speak to a mortgage professional about the loan amount you can qualify for. Be sure to factor in all home own related expenses, such as insurance, taxes, utilities, association dues, gardening & maintenance costs, to insure affordability.
- Ask a mortgage professional to pre-approve you for a loan.
- Make a list of everything you would like to have and need in your new home. Consider these benefits of home ownership: Comfort, convenience, entertainment, recreation, privacy, prestige, aesthetic, economics, security, safety, value, health, self actualization & romance.
- Not only look at the home, but research the neighborhood, to be sure that it fits your lifestyle choice.
- Give yourself time to really visit each property. Some properties look good online, but are disappointing in person, while others look better in person.
- Don’t be shy – ask a lot of questions. The more informed you are, the better you’ll feel in the process.
